I wouldn't mind but I only replaced the motor through meade a few weeks ago and just started aligning the scope. This scope is causing me so many problems. I will go back to meade as you suggested.

Hey guys
I just had a thought, could it be that one motor is moving slower than the other.
Just a thought.
Still doesn't seem to be looking good.

Better that old people should die of talk than to have young people die in war.

John,
They rotate on two different axes that are perpendicular to each other regardless of speed. Mechanically speaking they pass each other by but there is no circumstance in which they would ever touch each other. It has to be an assembly problem. What about when you replaced the motor, did you remove and replace the cover?

Try all the above. They do effect things. Currently getting a mains supply to eliminate this issue for good. Another option is to reset the Autostar. If you have inadvertantly changed a setting this puts everything back to factory settings. IE Changed the scope mounting from a polar scope to Al/Az. Only down side is you have to reinput your location. I found this operation worthwhile when I had issues originally as I knew what all the settings should be.

Sorry, Hit the submit button too soon. Have you tried the Weasner LXD site. Supports both the 55 and 75 versions. Better Retrain and Recalibrate before hand as that's always his first recommendation.

John,
just a suggestio. TAS is meeting on the first Tuesday of November next. If you have no luck by then, you are free to come over and get a personal second opinion, and look, from TAS?
