Ever used a fisheye dogstar? Sigma 8mm is next on my wish list! No idea what kind of results you'd get at astro-photography with it though.

There's the making of a film in there!
Coming to a screen near you....a deadly astronomer on the rampage...random attacks on tripods....but who will survive?...find out more in this gripping thriller...starring Anthony Hopkins as Hacksaw O'Connell...only on a screen near you...

Michael,
Pulled my Skylux out this afternoon. Do we have the same mount? Tripod legs are definitely different, and I can't see which part to take out to mount the camera.
I would be able to mount it as is, but I couldn't screw it directly to it, as you would with a tripod.

On the tube itself is a clamshell/ring.
On the bottom of this ring is a plate - the plate which fits onto the mount.
This plate can be separated from the clamshell.
This photo shows the clamshell and mounting plate together as they normally are:
This photo shows them separated:
The mounting plate can now be hooked up to a camera with a 1/4-20 bolt.
Now, of course, one more thing to note, this is the orignal scope which first came out. Don't know if it has been revised since.
Hope this helps,
