We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time. . . .

What I did with my Skylux mount is added a bubble (spirit) level to make sure it is as level as possible when out and about. As to a polar scope, the only thing I though of was to drill a hole in the declination axis and see if it could be 'modified' to allow the spotting of Polaris along that axis or not. Didn't get around to it.

I am wondering if I can improve the polar alignment. There is no space for the mount to take a proprietary polar scope.

If so, I'd be interested to see a pic as I was thinking of doing this exact same thing.

Is this permanently attached? What I did with my Skylux mount is added a bubble (spirit) level to make sure it is as level as possible when out and about.

It is Mike. I don't have a picture but I'll try to add one later. What I did was simply attach the buble level with epoxy resin to the largest horizontal surface of the mount itself (in my case under the declination option wheel). As there are 3 versions of it since it came out in 2003, it is up to you to decide where to put it.
Note re: resin - I used a twin mix syringe resin. It sets in 5 minutes, but for that time, you need to hold it in position, so pick a time when you're not tired and shaky!
