Clunk, thats the sound of my jaw hitting the floor after I slide the levels in registax
we need a new emoticon for that.

Seriously guys, this is a grand little scope, it shows no green/yellow chromatic abberation when using a decent eyepiece and diagonal.
2 things I found with the optics, the diagonal (at least the one I got) is garbage, it is not 45 degrees with the scope, it is visibly off.
Using the eyepieces and diagonal supplied gives me yellow/green adges on the moon, if you have good eyepieces then use them.
This might be why there were reports of this problem last year.
The main lens seems to be exceptionally good. As you can see from the image above, there is no visible chromatic abberation, I'm very impressed.
This scope shoots well above par!.
The image is with a 300d at iso 100 at a speed of 100. 10 frames were made and stacked in registax and cropped in photoshop. No colour manipulation was performed.
The speeds above should be easily replicable by film users.

Dave - simply stunning.
I got the SkyLux last year and imaged a few deep sky objects and got equally good shots as your lunar one above (with the DSI). The ETX performs equally well by the way. As you say though, whilst the OTA optics are bang on, the supplied eyepieces and diagonal didn't do the scope any justice at all.
All you folks who hit the Lidl shops today, we look forward to many more submissions like this. And don't fret about the supplied diagonal/eyepieces - you can pick up quality pieces cheaply and easily - they will give you a scope well worth the extra investment.
Cheers
Dave

Dave,
Not only is the image quite impressive but it was done with a "60-euro" scope including mount and accessories.
I hope to have a similar toy in my hands next week when we have a similar deal in Greece.
I look forward to additional images from your new refractor.
Clear skies!
Anthony.

Very nice shot Dave.
Could you post exposure detail + scope details?
I am waiting to try out the ZS80 on the Moon as well
Later,
Jed.
