Out of curiosity, what method of sharpening do you use?

Hi Michael,
This part is very important. First of all I sharpen each channel in Registax v6 here are my settings. First set your wavelets to linear-initial linear to 1- step increments to 0 then select Gaussian. First slider up to 88.9% denoise to 0.30 sharpen to 0.230 - second slider to 13.4 denoise to 0.10 sharpen to 0.200 then press do all and save the image. You can save these settings under save scheme and then load scheme to make all you’re images the same sharpness. Once I have my master RGB channels derotated from Winjupos I load them into Photoshop and sharpen each RGB channel using unsharp mask. Off then back to Winjupos and combine the RGB then back into Photoshop to finish off the processing I hope this makes scene.
Hi Dave,
This is all natural with some small tweaks in Photoshop. One of the hardest things to avoid is burning out the central meridian and losing all that detail by pushing things too much.

I use Autostakkert for stacking and use sharpening in Photoshop only.
I use a radius of less than 1.0.
Results have turned out better for me using that method.
If you had a way of sending me the original video file, I'd love to try processing it from that angle anbd see how the result compares.

Hi lads,
Sorry for my late reply I’m just in from work. Michael when it comes to the Planets or Sun it requires different types sharping. My sharping above works for me on Jupiter’ If I was processing Mars or the Sun I would find what sharping works best for them. I also use Autostakkert for aligning and stacking of the AVI’s I just use registax for sharping on the single tiffs. Once I have my master red tiff which is about 6 to 8 reds combined I can give it a much more aggressive sharping in Photoshop because I have a much better S/N ratio. I’ll upload some AVI’s to webtreatz so you can play around with them I’ll put a link on here for you to download. It would be interesting to see the results.
Dave,
The colour balance on the belts does needs some adjustments in Photoshop. Nothing to major I’ll show you in Galway.
Carl.
