Plenty of meteors seen at Skelligs, I saw around 40, and I wasn't even particularly looking for them early on, as I was using my telescope most of the time to view other stuff. Others saw many more than that.
I can confirm Finbarr's observations. Just after 2.00am there was a bit of a rush of meteors. around 5 or 6 in a two or three minute spell, including two of very similar brightness within a few seconds of each other and both following roughly the same track
All in all, the best Perseid shower for many a long year

Observed the show from clear dark skies on White Strand in Clare.
Best Perseids shower I've seen.
Stopped counting after a few hours!
We all got lucky this year. I captured a few on camera also.
Couple of bright ones and an Iridium Flare
Perseids 1
Close up of the brightest I got through Perseus
Perseids 2
Saw several through the dipper. Turned the camera on it for a few min and caught this one. (Though looks sporadic due to the direction)
Perseids 3

Since Tuesday night last, I was able to observe the Perseids for 5 straight, clear (yes, CLEAR) nights in a row. Tuesday's ZHR was remarkably high, Wednesday night's peak was, well, awesome! Thursday and Friday nights were also high but their ZHRs were not as high as the previous Tuesday. Saturday night did show a sharp tapering off of the ZHR, but still saw many bright magnitude meteors.
Points at a glance:
- Many fast Perseids, yellow/white in colour.
- Recorded a second radiant on Tuesday night appeared from an area between Pegasus and Cygnus.
- At best, I recorded an average of 8 to 11 meteors a minute at times on Tuesday night, and on Wednesday night's peak (with 2 additional observers with me) would have got a peak as high as 15 meteors per minute. Do the maths for the Zenith Hourly Rate yourself!
- Noted a peak of the Kappa Cygnids (off Alberio) on Tuesday night.
- No fireballs (bollides), but many meteors in the 0 to -3 magnitude range.
- Very short lasting trails left by many, none that exceeded more than 4 seconds.
- Many sporadics throughout the sky.
- The best one that I saw? a c.+1 magnitude greenish-white meteor that entered off the Square of Pegasus and traversed the sky before disappearing before the bowl of The Plough.
In all, the BEST meteor shower display, and not just of the Perseids, that I have recorded in 14 years. Thrilled to have been able to get the 5 nights in a row, lucky that they were clear.
Seanie.

My 8mm meteor camera pointed towards the south-east over Wicklow, the Irish Sea and the UK in the direction of London has captured 273 meteors so far while the 2.6mm all-sky meteor camera has recorded 123.

Wow it was a great show indeed. Does that camera have specific software to count / log the meteors?
