Ya.
They plan on hitting it on or after the 20th, (after the shuttle lands) it will be passing our way then for a few days.

If timing is right then we could indeed be lucky!
We may not see the initial explosion but we definatly should see debris
falling in the form of 'meteors'.
I have also read blogs that elude to the suggestion that there
is a nuke divice on board and that is why it needs to be 'destroyed'
at such a cost.

Looks like they plan an attempt to destroy it on Thursday according to the CNN website. They aim to launch from an Aegis cruiser when the satellite is approx. 150 miles up & estimate the cost of the attempt at between $50-$60 million!!! I love the US Government quote which said" we can't do anything to make the situation worse". Now where have we heard that one before..........

The Russians believe that there is nothing on board the satellite, apart from the normal spy imaging gear. The only reason it is being shot down is so the US can test out new anti-satellite weaponary, and this is the perfect opportunity for a test, to destroy a potentially "dangerous" crash in the ocean
