UPS or Oops

I've never had a delivery issue with any shipping company. Judging by others' experiences, sounds like I've just been extremely fortunate.

I did have an issue with USPS but that boiled down to the vendor not reading my email and incorrectly writing my address on the package. So not a delivery error.

One thing about shipping from ne-EU countries with the UPS (I've no experience with other delivery companies) is their exhorbitant charge for 'custom's clearance'. If I can electronically pay money to a US recipient for no charge, I can't see why I have to pay UPS an 'administration' charge for clearing customs. In this day and age of electronic banking and money transfer, it smacks of 'rip off'. A bit like baggage handling charges - which I'll have to pay for the privilege of taking a spare set of clothes and my toothbrush to New York

By the way, as an aside, An Post, in my experience, are excellent at parcel delivery.

And all of that is why I've registered my work address as a delivery address on my credit card details. When Telescope-Service send me a parcel the folks in Goods In accept it, put in the cage with the rest of the individually addressed deliveries and send me an email - and if I'm working elsewhere, as sometimes happens, I reply to let them know when I'll collect. No problems.

The thing is Matthew, An Post attempt to make the delivery and if they can't they leave a note saying so, suggesting you pick it up at the nearest sorting office, they don't just shrug their shoulders and send it back to the sender when they don't deliver.

I just believe that Oops didn't make much of an effort to find my home, and I don't live down some dirt track lane on the side of a mountain, I live on the southside of the biggest city in Ireland.

I know I'm still ranting, but I feel that as we order from abroad we are at the mercy of these companies.

If you ask them nicely they might even cover the second delivery charge! Honest to god! they care about their customer relations that much! Good luck with it Paul!
