I don't mean to be rude but what exactly is it about the rape and destruction of Irish culture that people seem to think is worth celebrating? The forced Christianisation of Ireland and the death of the Celtic ways doesn't seem like such a good thing to me.

I strongly suspect the Irish rugby players and cricketers (judging by the Pakistan score of 105 for 8 ) will have a stonking good time tonight whichever town they may be in.

Have a good one ! :D

Well, I guess seeing as we are (majority) of a Christian faith, it has just been steeped in history, diluted, and served up green as part of Nationalism from the English too! I know what you're saying Bart! It's te same for Christams and Easter, is it not? Old pagan religions and even unsatisfactory customs were wiped out by Christianity through quite clever planning!

Anyway, this is not a religious forums!

Happy Paddy's Day friends! :)

St. Patrick brought Graeco-Roman Civilisation our way.

Without his sort illiterate Vikings and Celts would still be battling it out in the uncivilised backwater that was Northern Europe.
