Ronan, see if there is some way that you can leverage this to increase membership in your own club. Perhaps A&S would be willing to let you make a quick announcement at the talk , or leave leaflets on chairs to promote your next meeting or event?

I'm sure this wouldn;t be a problem as long as the GAC are willing to allow AI do the same at GAC events such as the GSP?

BTW Albert, A&S have no say in this AI event.

I can't believe we're back here again. To me this is a non-issue. AI have gotten slack on these very boards in the past for not being a real national society because they only hold talks in Dublin. Now they DO hold events outside of Dublin and suddenly they are wrong to do that too. It makes no sense to me.

The more people organising talks in the more places the better. Period.

It seems like a no win scenario for AI. People are out for blood-that is how it appears to me.

I dont care what AI do and dont see them as competition.
If they want to have talks anywhere, then its not a problem for me and is a non-issue.

Dave Grn, you'll remember that SAC was founded back in the mid 80s, before AI, not that it matters ...

Not even Birr? Is there a club down there at all of late Dave? Shame to see it disappear if there is none.

Seanie.

There doesnt seem to be. If there is they're doing very well at keeping to themselves. Anyway I'm closer to Portumna hence the Galway connecton and bar me doing talks around the area that's it that I'm aware of.
