Jonathan - pic 2 is classic - that must've been a fair weight of rock to balance on the head ;)

Love pic 3 too.

Thanks for posting those pics up Jonathan. The glow in the third pic is Galway to the north east, not a problem as its far enough away.
Setting up the scopes in the setting sunlight by having the dinner earlier worked out well. It gave people a chance to have a chat before it got dark and its sooo much easier setting up when you can see what youre doing. This part of the schedule will be repeated next year. Thank god the cloud cleared!!

Hi, I only managed to capture one sky image on the night 11-12 Sept, I spent the rest of the time capturing Jupiter with a web cam and struggling with my equipment (mount).

Canon 350d Kit lens 18-55 piggybacked.
Captured 25 x25 Sec exposures @ 800 jpeg/raw this image is a stack 9 jpeg frames the rest had a small amount of cloud in the bottom right corner.

I know it’s a very noisy image but I thought I’d post anyway just to show what was possible on the night.
All that I’ve done is stack in DSS and a little use of curves in PS. (I wish I knew more)

So go easy with me this is only my third image of the night sky.

3rd image only!? Not bad at all Tony.
Do you have a link to a higher resolution?
BTW
How did your capture of Jupiter turn out?

Thanks Frank.... I should say my third image is one of three that resembles anything like the night sky, lots of others but with orange glow and star trails really terrible.

Here is a the same image with a little more use of curves in PS and two images of Jupiter, the first image taken with a 10” Meade and no Barlow and to be fair it was a rush job as we were packing up when the GRS came into view. Second image 4” Celestron ED refractor with 2.5 Barlow.

Hi Tony,
Those Jupiter images are v. nice, Isn't it amazing how prominent the GRS is these days.
