Guys,
I am surprised that nobody has mentioned the refractor with GEM available for 60 euros. The refractor would make a great piggy-back guide scope and the mount would be perfect for a camera (manual guiding or otherwise) when doing widefield work.
I sincerely hope we have the refractor available locally by LIDL at the same price.
Anthony.

Too right Anthony, althought I think someone else started a thread devoted to it. Worth linking so here it is...
www.irishastronomy.org/boards/viewtopic....amp;highlight=#19493
And last year there was plenty of conversation concerning both these scopes.
Skylux:

ETX-70
www.irishastronomy.org/boards/viewtopic....91&highlight=etx
These threads are definitely worth checking out for anyone who is considering purchasing either scope.
Peter, that's also an excellent idea- as long as nobody recognizes me
Seriously though, maybe a little agressive marketing would help.

Optically, the ETX 70 and the Skylux were identical. The differencce in price is down to the GOTO mount of the ETX. If you're just looking for a piggyback scope, get the Skylux and recycle the GEM.

Heck, if you can, why not replace the local newsagents astronomy magazines with your own! Like Réalta for TAS does!
