Ascend about 10000 meters in altitude to get above the worst part of the atmosphere before you take your next moonshot :wink: ,

seriously, it looks like to me that the "seeing" at the time of this image is not as good as the previous image?? for instance, you cant see copernicus anyway near as clearly as you could previously, of course there is squat you can do about that. :?

Maybe the unsharp mask is aibt strong??

Well, Copernicus would be fully lit at this time in comparison to a few days previously bacause of the moon's angle. However, I see your point alright.

Yea, I think you might be right now that I look at it with a fresh pair of eyes. I'll give it another go of procesing and see what happens...

On this image the colour is pushed alot. Am I correct in saying that there is a scientific (geological??) reason for the different colours???

I would think so. Different depths, or sediments, or ages in dust layers, would change differently under the reflection of even visible light.
