Hi,

The Great Red Spot drifts in Jovian Longitude continuously and mostly in an unpredictable way, so any Computer Program cannot predict its correct location unless it can accept an updated value. Many programs can indeed accept such a new value over its default value.

The current longitude of the GRS is about 122 degress (System II). The correct value at any time can be only determined from observations. This involves timing the the passage of the centre GRS across the Central Meridian of Jupiter (this is the line dividing the East & West hemispheres of Jupiter.

I would happy to receive any such observatiuons.

This guy is *the* amateur Jupiter guru. He images Jupiter every opportunity he gets. And very well too.
