Carrying around my 20" obsession is going to kill me,

 oh dear god, Frank, I'd bet you don't know what day of the week it is right now
As for the night of the eclipse, I'll probably stay in the observatory with the 12" SCT like in 2007, I'm currently not able to get the full moon in the FOV of the 20" with the canon.

I can only use the phrases ''we went'' , ''we took'', ''we got''
so many times before people will start to think I'm
his Siamese twin!
Ahh,
I'd still hang around with him 20'' Dob or not!

I was thinking more along the line of you both being civil partners.
JOKING.
You guys are like the Laurel and Hardy of astronomy. Combined.............you produce pure brilliance.

SNAP!! - I'm the same - I've accumulated 50 days holiday this year, and I'm gonna use as many as possible for astronomy. I'm taking Thursday and Friday off also. Lets hope the weather is kind.

MY worry is that the whole event will happen at such a time as i need to be on my front driveway with my scope and stuff.....................and all the drunks from the local pub will be passing by and see me and either want to have a look or beat the crap out of me.

Right Lads,
Given that it'll probabily be cloudy for the eclipse here, who is considering getting on a cheap ryanair flight and going to somewhere like Malaga to watch it, it wouldn't cost alot.
I looked up the Canaries but flights are booked up for the Wednesday and Thursday from Shannon (who would be flying to the Canaries in mid week in February on a holiday beats me!), however flights to places like Malaga are still available, anyone tempted ??
