IFAS Astronomer of the Year 2007 was created by michaeloconnell
All,

We're now in November already - where has the year gone! That of course means that it's time to vote for whom you believe deserves the title of IFAS Astronomer Of The Year 2007. Previous members include John FLannery, Martin McKenna and Dave McDonald. The award is in recognition of a persons contribution to these boards during 2007. Nominations are open to all members of the website. Each member may only vote once, so make your vote count.

Please send all entries to: ifasastronomer@irishastronomy.org

Closing date for entries is November 25th. The Prize? Simple really: The respect of your fellow astronomers and friends on the IFAS boards!

May the best astronomer win!

Regards,

Although not a regular contributor to the IFAS boards I would like to nominate Colm J. Cannon (aka Spaceboy) for his long standing contribution to amateur astronomy. I was lucky enough to attend several of Colm's lectures over the years and his knowledge was matched only by his willingness to share and pass on his enthusiasm for the subject.

So there you have it - Colm for President!

Philip.

Jeeze time flies. It only seemed a couple weeks ago when I created those extra accounts here to cast my vote... maybe it was only a few weeks ago, knowing this was creeping up again...

What are you offering as an "incentive" this year, Seanie?
It'd need to be better than last year's promises if I voted "right".

He promised me Pamela Anderson as well as a 10" AP refractor. Zilch on both counts .... I suspect he kept both her and the refractor for himself (not that I blame him).
