Dave got his first observatory code back in 2006, this triggered a spate of excitement for some of us to follow on with further observatory codes in such a short time, which I think their are 4 Irish amateur astronomers.

Today's anouncement is significant for irish astronomy in that it is not only the first minor planet found from Ireland since 1848 (Metis) but I believe will again trigger other Irish amateurs in Ireland to make new discoveries of these objects.

AOP (Advanced Observers Programme) of the IFAS has had its first significant contribution which we should be all proud of.

Hi Dave McD,

All I can say is very well done It was great to here the news.I was keeping in contact with Dave grennan and Andreas Doppler over the last three nights on the work that was being done, Dave was telling me about his asteroid and yours too. He told me there was a good chance that at least one and maybe two of them could be a new discovery. So all I have left to say is Congratulations to yourself on your new discovery which I'm sure won't be the last over the coming weeks.

Carl.
