Great images lads,
I was on the verge of heading to Tralee myself, but without been certain about the cloud situation down there, its a long way to go.

Just updated our club website and found that I had an image taken at almost exactly mid eclipse, 3:26. See the clubs home page and gallery, link below. (and I thought I would get an early night.....)
Thank you for the compliments. I would have posted that we had clearances here but I was hunting around back roads to get under the largely stationary clearance.
As well as that, the "lee" or "rain shadow" effect is very unreliable and would have hated to put a long drive on anyone at that hour. We did not even put out a local text alert to the club members...
Any way I hope the pictures went some way to ease the pain. It makes up for the last eclipse when we were the only ones clouded out in the country.

I dont mind missing a lunar eclipse cuz they happen pretty often. I find solar eclipses more exciting and we dont see them very often here.
I am now looking forward to august.
Lots to do and see before then of course.

Hi to all !
Indeed such celestial phenomena make this leisure worth more...
I was at cape Sounion (Greece), along with good company
and we were lucky enough to admire the whole eclipse development
in a sky absolutely clear of clouds, by the ancient temple of Poseidon.
(Only early in the dawn there were some minor ones...)
This eclipse was another opportunity to prove that there are several people
who deny the luxury of their houses, the warmness of their families or
the comfort of their beds and they expose themselves out in the cold,
carrying sometimes heavy equipment or climbing up in dangerous cliffs,
in order to capture just another shot of such magic sky moments...
Let me share with you, two of my images from this night,
a night which already passed from expectations to memories...
