John,
Those are excellent images. We had a great time marvelling at this wonderful event and the changing phases and colours of our closest celestial neighbour.
Here are two sample results from me as well:
www.perseus.gr/Astro-Eclipses-2008-02-21b.htm
www.perseus.gr/Astro-Eclipses-2008-02-21.htm
This particular eclipse also involved the presence of both Regulus (alpha-Leonis) and Saturn in the immediate vicinity. Truly a magical event and evening.
Time to slowly start preparing for the solar eclipse on August 1st ....

I dont mind missing a lunar eclipse cuz they happen pretty often. I find solar eclipses more exciting and we dont see them very often here.
I am now looking forward to august.
Lots to do and see before then of course.

Paul,
Yes, I do recall reading that the Aug 1 eclipse also covers Chinese territory. Of course, the biggie is next year where China will have the honour of being the prime location.

Tony,
We had some concern since the weather forecasts suggested some clouds appearing about 30 minutes prior to the onset. Yes, a few minor clouds showed up (very low level) and which disappeared once and for all rather quickly. The rest of the evening was perfect ... the temperatures were also very comfortable.
I always enjoy such unique events. We are privy to two more eclipses in August.
