A very impressive scope, strehl=0.986, a stunning value for such a large mirror.

I like Frank's reaction to Yiannis's image.

Kinda says it all.

MY socks have been knocked off by it.

John,
Believe me when I tell you I sat down and tried to work out a way of getting the 20" there, I even passed a thought of getting the ferry to Le Harve and driving, totally mad ! I'd want to be heading off next week to make it for the start of July. I just don't trust the shipping companies and I have no boxes, err... crates to put it into.

Good God can you IMAGINE how spectacular things would look from there if you had the 20" with you.

Vagelis..................is Yanni's Vixen scope the one you were telling me about a while back?................the one i am planning on buying?

It looks like a beast of a scope. Yanni's one is also an 8"?

What kind of mount is it on?

Paul,

Last night I went for observation with my friend John Effremidis and tested his new Vixen VMC200L 8".
The scope is great.
Excellent optics, very light tube, beautiful piece.
M42 and Trapezium were awsome with William Optics UWA 28mm, Saturn was crispy with a Nagler 9mm and even crispier with a 9mm orthoscopic.
The moon and craters absolutely amazing. M81/82 and M51 better than in a typical 8" SCT.
Star test ok: In-focus and out-focus images of stars symmetrical and concentric.
I think what they say that it is better than clasic 8" SCT is true.
You will enjoy this scope.
Set up: John had it on HEQ5 Pro mount and had replaced the Vixen diagonal with a Wiliam Optics.

Vagelis.

Yeah it's the weight of the setup for an 8" that most attracts me.
