....and the other 12 posts with that word which went unedited. Can't be picking on Carl and not others Seanie, in all fairness.
If I spot it, I edit it. Maybe no one was behind me to pick up the slack...

If Celestron enforece a rule that you can only purchase a product within your counry of residence then thats one issue but why is there such a huge difference in prices from the UK do celestron enforce this? If so there is an issue if not then there is equally an issue? (if you follow)
TON
There is one celestron distributor per country. I.e. they get a monopoly. What possible incentive is there to lower prices when there is zero competition?

This is the point, there are now too many people acting as middle-men. Hinds have to get a margin, AI have to get their margin and the loser is the public who are faced with product costing far more than it should be.
Conns bought their stock, applied a fair margin and still make a profit at E500 lower than AI on the Nexstar 8SE. Given the negativity AI have been embroiled in over the years regarding their pricing policy, it beggers belief that that Hinds/Celestron would copper-fasten a deal making them sole agents for this country. However, this seems to be the case now and anyone wishing to purchase Celestron product is just going to have to pay more than they should.
