Conns sell the EP kit for €199.99 (out of stock right now).
However...
It is amazing the different prices between Ireland and England (same products, same company). Yet it seems Celestron dealers in UK are not allowed to sell to Ireland.
That sounds mighty illegal to me..................and if not illegal...............it's very suspect indeed.
As stated above......the owness doesnt lie with the dealers but rather Celestron themselves.

Territorial distributorships and dealers are commonplace in the business world and certainly not illegal.

Just a couple of quick points on this, some already pointed out.

My clear understanding is Ai sell stuff at the same price as the UK. If you were quoted something else take it up with them. Its possible the Ai rep was mistaken or thought you were referring to another scope. Even if the price wasnt mistaken don't just hang up and go elsewhere. Ask the AI rep them to explain why the price is different. Even if you don't end up buying from them, at least you'll help to keep everyone honest.

As someone pointed out. The rules are enforced by celestron. This is an American company. Any action would probably have to be taken US side making it virtually impossible.

Also Ai are just as much a victim of this as anyone else. Be careful about accusing of price fixing, there is no evidence to suggest anyone is doing that. The problem is that you can't buy from the UK or elsewhere. But why would that be a problem as long as the price is right. Surely it makes sense to buy here if the price is the same? But Irish and all that.

It's kinda funny that a discussion about anti competitive practice follows an announcement by Carl that Ai are looking for new dealers. Dealers who, I understand, will be free to charge whatever prices they see fit, good or bad.

Im sorry but im sick of this. Ill put it simply: Good Telescopes tend to be expensive. Crap scopes you can get for a few quid. How many more posts do we need to realise AI are an absolute rip off. As i said before i got a C11 from AI. I got a price of E3800. I rang them and told them i could get it for around 3200. They suddenly dropped their price by E500 euro over the dam phone. I know theres been lots of talk bout AI but ive never got my simple question answered. Why is AI ripping off irish astronomers? There has to be a reason. Can someone please enlighten me?

It's amazing how all of those people who got great deals off AI go quiet when threads like this erupt. You know who you are. Speak up please.

I've been reading this post with a smile on my face. And I have come to realize If we gave this stuff a way for nothing some people (not all )on these boards would still moan like XXXX. How it's not fair on the competition that we are giving the stuff away. it's a no win situation for A&S. I've been working very hard with Adam & David Hinds setting up a Distributorship over the last 5 months.even with Celestron in the US to make sure pricing was fair across the board.here in Ireland. Hinds & Celestron in the US are very happy with what I've come up with. They gave me there full backing to go ahead. So WHAT this means is that I can order Scopes by the container load direct from china and cut down even more on delivery charges so what this means Scopes will cost a lot less that I can pass on to you the customers. I told you all I had a long term plans for A&S.So I have 5 shops set up around the country all set to go. Hope this clears a few things up.

Mikey you will happy to know The C11-SGT is 3200 to buy soon to be 3000.Sorry I wasn't working there to help you out at the time.
