I had same problemwith both my etx's and now lxdl5, you need to make sure you have the time mode set correctly, you have a chice of AM, PM, and 24 hour clock, its a simple thing but it makes a difference PD

So Dusty, when you did set the time mode correctly, did the LXD75 work?

Failure in RA motor here.

There seems to be a pattern to this. I wonder if Lidl was given a dodgy batch of scopes. I can't fault their customer service; they offered to contact Meade for me about a replacement mount (which I accepted) or to take the scope back.

Oh dear! I thought I was doing something wrong but maybe it's worse than that.

LXD #1 was purchased yesterday morning in Lidl Larne, assembled last night, Autostar fired up and tried to line up on "Vega" (indoors etc, so not for real) - Dec motor went beserk pointing scope towards floor the Autostar pipes up with "Motor drive fault". Further tests show that when slow slew speeds are manually selected RA drive performs as expected, Dec goes at full speed whatever.

Autostar 497 from ETX105 attached, reprogrammed for scope, exactly the same behaviour.

LXD #1 taken back, LXD #2 brought home, assembled - exactly the ****ing same!!

Looked for help, ended up here.

Determined to get this bargain as it's just what I want, I really don't want to end up just getting my money back.

Paul.
